Since June 2022, Arlene has served as Chief People Officer for Aegon UK. Aegon is the UK’s largest investment platform, providing pensions, savings and investment solutions to help our 4 million customers to live their best lives. In her role, Arlene leads on people and culture which includes responsibility for community strategy and enabling Aegon colleagues to be a force for good.
Having originally started her career with ScottishPower as a Graduate Trainee, Arlene joined Aegon from the Weir Group where she was Global VP HR for the Minerals Division. Prior to that, she held a range of senior HR and operations leadership roles with Standard Life including Head of HR for Asia & Middle East and Director, Operational Excellence.
In 2023 Arlene was appointed to the Equality & Human Rights Commission, Scotland Committee which aims to ensure the work of Britain’s equality regulator meets the needs and priorities of people in Scotland. Arlene also plays an active role with a number of local and national charities including as Board Chair of Mid Lothian SureStart.
