Born and educated in Scotland, Julie-Ann has called Cardiff home since 1999, where she resides with her family. Until recently, she was the Chief Executive Officer of Wales’ largest building society, Principality Building Society.
Prior to Principality, she served as a senior manager in sales, marketing and technology for organisations such as Sainsbury’s and HBOS. Throughout her career, maintaining close relationships with customers has been a fundamental aspect of her professional ethos.Â
Julie-Ann has held several notable non-executive appointments. She served on the Prime Minister’s Business Council, and currently sits on the board of the Wales Millennium Centre, supporting the arts and community initiatives. Additionally, she serves as the Deputy Chair of the Building Society Association, helping to drive industry-wide improvements and advocacy.
Julie-Ann is a thought leader, frequently requested by the media to address contemporary economic issues that impact the day-to-day lives of mortgage and savings customers. Julie-Ann is also a powerful advocate for Principality’s work in, and commitment to, the communities it serves. This underlines the Society’s mutual ethos and values and the strong belief that business has a critical role to play in mitigating environmental impact and driving positive and inclusive societal change.
