About Katie Ridley
Katie has worked in the field of sustainability for over 15 years. In 2021, Katie joined Barbour – a global, family-owned apparel brand head quartered in South Shields for over 130 years. Here she leads their global sustainability strategy which includes circularity, carbon, nature, supplier engagement and partnerships.
Prior to Barbour, Katie worked for Higher Education organisations within the North East. This not only included a focus on operational sustainability, but also included building education, research and engagement schemes to build sustainability skills, knowledge and impact.
Katie has been involved with Business in the Community for over 5 years, including completing their Responsible Business Management Training. She is delighted to be part of the North East Leadership Board especially the opportunities it gives for shared learning and collaborative impact.
Katie has served on Business in the Community’s North East Leadership Board board since November 2024.
