About Laura Ratcliffe

Laura Ratcliffe has more than 20 years’ experience supporting vulnerable communities across the North East, having built her career in the voluntary sector through a range of frontline and leadership roles. Starting out as a volunteer, she has developed extensive expertise in delivering programmes that make a meaningful difference to underserved individuals and groups.

In 2022, Laura joined Northern Gas Networks (NGN) as Social Strategy Programme Manager, bringing her experience to support households in vulnerable situations across the NGN network. She leads the implementation and delivery of NGN’s Vulnerability Strategy, helping to ensure that the needs of customers and communities remain at the heart of the organisation’s work.

Laura is a strong advocate for responsible business and the positive impact it can have for both organisations and the communities they serve. Through her leadership of a broad portfolio of regional projects, she champions initiatives that create lasting social value and strengthen support for those most in need. Her commitment to this work is also what inspired her to join the North East Leadership Board.

Laura lives in Northumberland with her family and enjoys spending time outdoors, attending live music festivals and supporting her footballing daughters.

Laura has served on Business in the Community’s North East Leadership Board since March 2025.
