Lee Parkinson is the Chief Executive of Efficiency North Holdings Limited, a not-for-profit provider of procurement solutions, training and apprenticeships and affordable new build housing developments. It serves social landlord members and customers located across Northern England. He has over 30 years’ experience in the construction sector spanning a wide range of roles in procurement, management and business leadership in both private and public sector organisations.

Since joining Efficiency North in 2007, with the support of a dedicated team, Lee spearheaded its development to form Efficiency North Holdings Limited and its operating entities EN:Procure Limited, EN:Able Futures CIC, EN:Able Build Limited and our charity EN:Able Communities CIO. It is now one of the UK’s largest not-for-profit social housing procurement and social value consortia and offers a wide range of services across its operating companies. In 2020 Efficiency North Holdings Limited was awarded the Responsible Business Champion Award from Business in the Community (BITC) recognising the high quality social value outcomes and employment opportunities that the company creates.

Having begun his career as a Youth Training Scheme Apprentice Construction Technician, Lee is very passionate about the value of vocational pathways into management and leadership. Lee champions intelligent procurement approaches including integrated social value delivery and is a regular speaker at sectoral events and features frequently in industry journals.

Throughout Lee’s career he has been engaged with BITC in a variety of ways and is keen to share his knowledge and expertise regarding integrated approaches to social value delivery to provide hope and opportunity for those seeking employment and to maximise the good that businesses can do for their communities and their wider stakeholders.
