Mike Crowther MBE was born and raised in Blackpool in 1972 and has volunteered and worked for charities in Blackpool for 30 years. In that time Mike has worked alongside some of Blackpool’s most marginalised individuals to provide them with hope and a passion for improving their lives. Mike has led the Blackpool based charity ‘Empowerment’ since 2017, a period which has seen the charity grow from strength to strength in providing fresh hope for people who are homeless, people with serious mental illness and children in care or victims of domestic abuse.
Mike believes passionately in an exciting future for Blackpool and is excited by the role of Pride of Place in its ability to bring diverse people from a broad range of backgrounds work together united around a vision of making Blackpool the best place to live and work.
