Businesses reconfirm their commitment to tackling barriers to opportunity in communities across the UK at first Pride of Place Summit
Representatives from UK leading businesses reconfirmed their commitment to tackling barriers to opportunity at the recent Pride of Place Summit.
Hosted by Business in the Community (BITC) and Aviva as part of their Strategic Pride of Place partnership, over 200 business leaders came together to share experiences and develop solutions of how industry can address inequalities across the UK.
Representatives from Coventry Building Society, Compass Group UK&I, PWC, United Utilities, Linklaters, Pinsent Masons, Mott MacDonald, British Land, Salesforce and The Crown Estate joined together to support the following statement:
“We are delighted to support Business in the Community’s ambition to create a movement of businesses committed to achieving transformational and long-term change in communities across the UK. We recognise the responsibility and opportunity we have as leaders to work collectively to address deep-rooted challenges and to help create fairer, more resilient communities.”
The Pride of Place Summit brought together leaders to tackle the issues of inequalities in places that matter across the UK. Through convening leaders in this space from across sectors to share knowledge and experience, we will continue to build our understanding of the most challenging issues that our communities are facing and discuss how we can work together to overcome these challenges and drive action as a collective.
This interactive day included powerful key note speakers, panels and a variety of different breakout sessions with representatives from government, business and the third sector.
