Director of Commercial Banking, NatWest

About Nicola Barker

Nicola Barker is a Regional Director at NatWest, heading up Corporate & Commercial Banking across the East of England. The role entails overseeing a number of commercial and corporate banking teams across the East of England geography with an aim of delivering exceptional service and expertise to small and medium-sized (SME) and mid-corporate businesses.

She has worked for NatWest since 1989, always in the East of England and her ā€˜Ikigai’ (personal purpose and passion) is helping people develop and become the best that they can be. This passion extends beyond the workplace and over the years Nicola has been Chair of Young Enterprise, a charity that gives school children the practical experience in running a business, Vice-chair of Governors of a local primary and junior school and secretary of her local football club, catering for ages 4-64.

Nicola is a Member of The Chartered Institute of Bankers. NatWest’s purpose is to ā€˜Champion potential, helping people, families and businesses to thrive’ and Nicola joined the Business in the Community (BITC) East of England Board so that she can put this into practice and really help support her local communities. Outside of work she has a teenage, sports-mad son so is often seen driving mum’s taxi to rugby, running and karate events.

Nicola has served on Business in the Community’s East of England Leadership board since April 2022.
