Pauline Giroux is an award-winning Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) leader. She has spent most of her career in the Financial Services sector, working for Société Générale, a multinational investment bank, and most recently for Yorkshire Building Society, where she leads the Social Purpose and Sustainability function.
She has a proven track record building and embedding purpose-led strategies that integrate ESG priorities and commercial objectives to deliver broader stakeholder value. Her areas of specialism include community investment, environmental sustainability, diversity & inclusion and workplace wellbeing.
She holds a Master’s degree in International Management and Sustainable Development and is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (ICRS). She runs the ICRS Leeds Hub and is a Non-executive Director at Against Violence and Abuse, a charity committed to ending gender-based violence. She is on the Leadership Board of Lean In Leeds, a 900-member-strong professional development network focused on gender equality.
As part of the Business in the Community’s Yorkshire and Humber Leadership Board, Pauline hopes to share learnings and foster further collaboration between local organisations, in order to exceed common ambitions.
In her spare time Pauline enjoys practicing pilates and yoga, walking in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, and spending time with her family and friends in the UK and France.
