About the York Pride of Place Manifesto

The York Pride of Place Manifesto provides insight into the opportunities and challenges facing York, the York Pride of Place Board’s vision for the city, and the role businesses can play in delivering lasting change. Developed through collaboration between partners across business, education, local government, and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors, the Manifesto outlines a shared agenda for tackling poverty, improving social mobility, and creating more inclusive growth across York.

Established in 2024, York Pride of Place is a business-led cross-sector partnership focused on connecting education, skills, employers, health services, and communities to unlock opportunity, strengthen local partnerships, and improve outcomes for children and young people. The Manifesto sets out how collective action can help ensure York remains a city where heritage and innovation work together to create a prosperous future for all.

Headline ambitions

The York Pride of Place Board has identified a set of priorities that will help create long-term change across the city, including:
