One step forward, two steps back?

This is an online event.

  • Audience

This event is open to both members and non-members of Business in the Community (BITC) and has been designed for HR people/Talent management practitioners/managers.

Background

While much in the world of work is changing, it’s less clear what this will mean when it comes to gender and inclusion.

  • Could legislative support for flexible working be undermined by the increasing number of organisations rolling back on remote work?
  • Will the legal duty of employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment do enough to address this issue – and the way it’s now increasingly taking place online as well as in workplaces?
  • How will the rise of AI impact gender equity at work – will it act as an enabler or will we see a disproportionate number of women’s roles in the firing line?

About the Event

Ahead of this year’s International Women’s Day, themed ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate progress’, join this session to learn more about the contemporary themes shaping the new world of work, and how to ensure your organisation both seizes the opportunities – and addresses the risks – now and as we look to the future.

BITC will also be sharing details of our new campaign, Equal Futures, looking to accelerate the pace of change on gender equity and inclusion, as well as revealing new insight into the role flexible working plays in driving more equitable outcomes for diverse groups.

Speakers

  • Nitesh Prakesh, Partner at BAIN & Co and member of the BITC Race Equality Leadership Team who will also showcase highlights of our recent research around flexible working.
  • Mary Bright, Head of Social Impact at Phoenix Group.
  • Ashleigh Ainsley, a Forbes 30 under 30 name blazing a trail when it comes to diversity in tech.
  • A representative from the Young Women’s Trust who will speak about their manifesto around improving young women’s experiences at work.
  • Charlotte Woodworth, Gender Equality Campaign Director, BITC.
