Preventing Greenwashing and Unpacking Greenhushing
Tue, 01 October @ 10:00 – 11:30
This is an online event
Audience
This event is open to all Business in the Community (BITC) members. It is aimed at senior practitioners in Sustainability, Marketing and Communications as well as colleagues found in CEO Offices.
About the event
Research shows that the growing cultural and regulatory pressure to avoid greenwashing has led to the rise of its opposite, greenhushing, when businesses intentionally understate their environmental achievements to avoid greenwashing allegations.
This webinar is designed to help professionals in business understand the difference between greenwashing and greenhushing, why they matter and how you can navigate the unique challenges they present. Understanding these trends is crucial for businesses to meet evolving expectations and communicate their sustainability efforts honestly and authentically.
This webinar will empower you to:
- Use language effectively to avoid both greenwashing and greenhushing
- Identify and mitigate the risk of greenhushing on your business
- Learn from best practice examples and gain practical tips on how to strengthen your sustainability strategy
Speakers
We will be joined by guest speakers Tom Fern, Director, Burson and Robyn Swan, Associate Director, Burson. Both are members of Burson’s Sustainability and Social Impact team and have worked with leading global brands on the issues surrounding greenwashing and greenhushing.
