Join us for a timely, thought-provoking and engaging discussion on one of the defining challenges facing the UK.

This is an in-person event. Please note that the event will take place in the secure zone at the Labour Party Conference and only passholders will be able to gain access to the venue.

In summary

Our new Prime Minister, The Rt Hon Andy Burnham MP, has set out a vision for devolving and reshaping how the UK is governed. This shift comes at a time when the UK continues to grapple with persistent domestic challenges. There is also increasing acknowledgement that these issues cannot be solved through central government alone.

The breakfast will feature an opening keynote from the Rt Hon Alan Milburn, Lead of The Milburn Review: Young People and Work and a live debate on ā€œWho is really responsible for transforming UK’s places?ā€. It will bring together around 100 senior leaders from the public, private and third sectors to discuss where responsibility for change truly sits, and how we turn ambition into action. Drawing on insights from BITC’s place-based partnerships across the UK, the conversation will explore how government, business and communities can work together to deliver growth and stronger places.

We hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be a timely, thought-provoking and engaging discussion on one of the defining challenges facing the UK- how we create thriving places, and who must step up to make it happen.

Due to high anticipated demand, please register by Friday 18 September. If you have any questions please contact us on place@bitc.org.uk. Please note that you will need a Labour Party Conference pass to gain access to the venue. Joining instructions and an agenda will be shared closer to the event with the confirmed attendees.
