Adam Lechmere is the Climate and Resilience Strategy Manager at United Utilities, the water company in the North West of England.

His focus is to help the company deliver its long-term business objectives, ensuring that they are resilient to the multiple shocks and stresses placed on the system, including those from climate change. Adam is responsible for shaping the company’s approach to climate adaptation including understanding the latest climate change data, risk assessing services and developing investment cases.

Adam joined the Business in the Community (BITC) Climate Action Leadership Team in the recognition that successfully adapting to climate change is a whole of society endeavour and that the BITC is well placed to lead business in this essential activity.

Adam has worked in the English and Welsh water sector for almost 20 years in roles including asset management, major infrastructure projects, long-term business planning, water resource management and resilience.
