Join to explore how organisations can navigate differing personal beliefs while maintaining inclusion, dignity and psychological safety.

This is an online event taking place on Microsoft Teams

Audience

We are pleased to welcome Business in the Community (BITC) members, as well as non-members who have an advisory package with us. Hosted by our issue experts, there are 20 forums a year, covering a range of responsible business areas and enabling our members to discuss challenges, solutions and ideas.

This event will be of particular interest to HR, EDI, legal, and senior leaders responsible for culture, conduct, and employee relations.

About the event

Across many workplaces, conversations about identity, values, and beliefs are becoming more visible—and at times more contested. Leaders and HR professionals are increasingly asked to balance:

  • freedom of belief and expression
  • protection from discrimination and harassment
  • the need for respectful, inclusive workplace cultures

This session will provide a structured space to reflect on real-world dilemmas, share organisational approaches, and consider practical strategies for managing dissent in ways that uphold both inclusion and fairness.

Background

BITC’s inclusion work emphasises psychological safety, belonging, and respectful dialogue as core foundations of responsible business. Supporting employers to navigate complexity—rather than avoid it—is central to creating cultures where difference can exist without harm.

About Business in the Community’s Peer Learning Forums

BITC’s Peer Learning Forums provide a confidential environment to discuss common issues, solutions, and good practice. There will be an emphasis on discussion and sharing experiences. All contributions from businesses will be confidential within the group and won’t be shared externally by BITC.
