Karen Holdsworth is the Community Engagement Lead for Samworth Brothers, a fourth-generation family company that produces a wide range of quality chilled and ambient foods. As well as producing quality own-label products for many well-known retailers, Samworth Brothers’ brands include Ginsters, Soreen, Walker & Son and Higgidy.
Karen is responsible for building and delivering Samworth Brothers’ community engagement strategy, to bring its purpose of ‘doing good things with great food’ to life within its local communities. Since joining the role in September 2022, Karen has established a clear and defined community strategy for the business, increased the engagement of its individual businesses with their local communities and introduced a Community Framework for all colleagues which sets out the ambitions and targets of the business, whilst also providing guidance to colleagues on key partnerships and volunteering opportunities.
