Andrew Masraf is the Senior Partner of Pinsent Masons and chairs the firm’s Board, Remuneration and Partnership Committee and ESG Committee. He is Board champion for Race & Ethnicity and Social Mobility and sponsored a new approach to pro bono support across the firm.
Andrew has ultimate responsibility for the leadership of Pinsent Masons. He was elected with a mandate to ensure the firm is “Thinking Like a 21st Century Business” and he has introduced broader thinking through advice and briefings from private equity clients, senior executives and a political adviser and global economist.
His role is to develop the company’s strategy to be a purpose-led, multinational professional services business with law at its core. The success of this strategy relies on cultivating a firm whose social and environmental responsibilities are part of its DNA and which is a leader in excellence and innovation and celebrates the importance of a diverse workforce.
The nurturing of talent is important to Andrew. He led a team which developed a growth mind-set strategy in collaboration with Matthew Syed (the former Olympic table tennis player and now author and journalist) which achieved recognition from across the legal industry.
With future talent in mind, Andrew is pleased to join Business in the Community’s Leadership Council. He has been an advocate for broadening access to the legal profession and the wider business community and addressing skills gaps including through Pinsent Masons’ apprenticeship programme.
Andrew joined the firm as a trainee in 1993.
