Andrew Masraf is the Senior Partner of Pinsent Masonsand chairs the firm’s Board, Remuneration and Partnership Committee and ESG Committee. He is Board champion for Race & Ethnicity and Social Mobility and sponsored a new approach to pro bono support across the firm.
Andrew has ultimate responsibility for the leadership of Pinsent Masons. He was elected with a mandate to ensure the firm is “Thinking Like a 21st Century Business” and he has introduced broader thinking through briefings from political advisers, global economists and industry experts and advice from private equity clients and senior executives from a range of sectors.
He developed the firm’s vision to achieve global reach through unmatched sector and skillset capabilities. At the heart of the firm’s strategy to deliver the vision is a focus on recruiting, supporting and developing high-performing people with social and environmental responsibilities in their DNA and who celebrate the importance of a diverse workforce, while leveraging data and technology and harnessing the firm’s unique and inclusive culture to provide a unique experience for anyone working with Pinsent Masons.
The nurturing of talent is important to Andrew. He led a team which developed a growth mind-set strategy in collaboration with Matthew Syed (the former Olympic table tennis player and now author and journalist) which achieved recognition from across the legal industry.
With future talent in mind, Andrew is pleased to join Business in the Community’s Leadership Council. He has been an advocate for broadening access to the legal profession and the wider business community and addressing skills gaps including through Pinsent Masons’ apprenticeship programme.
Andrew joined the firm as a trainee in 1993.
