This PLF outlines legal duties and best practices on pay transparency under the EU Directive to help reduce Europe’s gender pay gap.

This is an online event taking place on Microsoft Teams

Audience

We are pleased to welcome Business in the Community (BITC) members, as well as non-members who have an advisory package with us. Hosted by our issue experts, there are 20 forums a year, covering a range of responsible business areas and enabling our members to discuss challenges, solutions and ideas.

This event will be of particular interest to HR and EDI professionals.

About the event

From June 2026, organisations with employees in an EU member state will need to comply with the EU Pay Transparency Directive, which requires gender pay gap reporting and other pay transparency measures.

Find out more about the Directive, its implications for UK businesses (whether required to comply with the Directive or not) and how you can gain competitive advantage in the recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce through a transparent and equitable approach to compensation.

Background

BITC believes that UK businesses have the power and responsibility to progress gender equality. We advocate pay transparency as part of our eight-step route map to gender equality. However, Our Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality Insights Report 2025 notes that the gender pay gap remains one of the strongest indicators of structural inequality faced by women in the UK.
