Jessica is a highly experienced HR Professional with over 15 years specialising in assessment and selection. In 2018, Jess established the Assessment Centre of Excellence at Deloitte. Since then she has built a team of assessment professionals to design and implement inclusive assessment practice to support hiring and internal mobility. As a chartered member of the CIPD she understands the wider HR agenda. She is a committed member of the Business in the Community Untapped Talent Taskforce, seeing the organisation as a ‘force for good and an enabler for societal change’.
In addition to creating market leading assessment materials and processes that are inclusive in design for thousands of roles each year, she has led innovative work to remove barriers for neurodiverse candidates and has been highly active in developing guidance for resourcing professionals and training in this area. Recognising that Deloitte candidates have very different access to guidance on assessment preparation, levelling the playing field has been an important area of focus. Jess and her team continue to lead research to learn about and address disadvantage experienced by underrepresented groups during the assessment and selection process. They have been highly effective at bringing this to the attention of the firm’s 2,500 hiring managers as well as influencing resourcing strategy.
Outside of work, Jess enjoys spending time with her teenage boys, walking the dogs in the beautiful woods that surround her home and ‘switching off’ by swimming in her local outdoor pool.
