Raman Bhatia is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of OVO, the UK’s third largest energy supplier. He joined in January 2020 as Chief Operating Officer, leading the integration of SSE Energy Services with OVO. Raman also oversaw the migration of millions of customers onto Kaluza, an intelligent energy platform. Under his leadership, OVO is driving positive change for customers on its journey towards zero-carbon living.

Raman is the co-sponsor of OVO’s Inclusion and Diversity initiative, OVO Belonging. It aims to build a truly inclusive culture at OVO. He is really proud of the work done to date, with the company recently winning Diverse Company of the Year at the National Diversity Awards.

Prior to OVO, Raman was Head of Digital Bank for HSBC Retail Banking and Wealth Management in the UK and Europe. As a member of the Executive Committee, he led innovation, new digital ways of working, risk management and the design, development, deployment and commercialisation of digital platforms, products and channels within the UK and Europe.

Before HSBC, he worked in consumer technology as Vice President at HouseTrip and Director of Strategy at Expedia for EMEA. He started his career as a management consultant at Bain, acting as advisor to governments and international development agencies on urban governance and planning.

Raman is a Business in the Community (BITC) Trustee and Chair of the Cost-of-Living Taskforce, leading BITC’s collective business response to support those most disadvantaged and vulnerable in society at this vital time.

Raman holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
