Accelerating Change By Setting Targets
Business in the Community (BITC)is accelerating change by setting targets to meet the progress required by the Global Goals.
There is insufficient progress being made on the Global Goals, also known as the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and businesses need to play their part if responsible business targets are to be met1.
To help achieve this, we have identified Six Catalysts of Responsible Business: actions that will accelerate, scale and perpetuate corporate actions to tackle the biggest issues facing society.
This toolkit, responsible business targets to accelerate change, enables businesses to set and measure targets that reflect the scale of issues facing the world today and help meet the Goals.
The toolkit, accelerating change by setting targets includes:
- An overview of what ambitious impact targets are.
- How to develop ambitious goals.
- Measuring and reporting your impact.
The toolkit includes examples of ambitious targets being set by other organisations in a bid to accelerate responsible business practices.
Accelerating positive change
Whatever issue, ESG (environment, social or governance factor), sustainability topic or specific Global Goal your business focuses on, we can help your organisation be faster, braver and bolder. We will accelerate your progress to becoming a more responsible business so that together, we create greater positive change.

The Global Goals provide a shared blueprint to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. They recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth. All while tackling climate change and working to preserve oceans and forests.
