Healthy Environment is a section on the Business in the Community (BITC) Responsible Business Map.™ Our programmes focus on building a one-planet economy that delivers lasting prosperity through the United Nations (UN) Global Goals, also known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The programmes encourage innovative and transformational change at the core of businesses.
Every single business in the UK must take action to avert the climate crisis. BITC’s network of organisations is working with us to take climate action.
Our environment work has three strands

Circular Economy: with its enormous potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions creating a circular economy is an essential part of tackling the crisis.
Climate Action: what we do is important, but how we do it is equally critical. We must make sure the transition to a resilient, net-zero UK is fair and just, enabling people and nature to thrive.
Nature Stewardship: the flourishing of humans and business success are inextricably linked to the health of nature. A stewardship approach builds increased resilience in urban and rural landscapes, protects critical natural assets, helps to climate-proof businesses and communities.
