Prof. Judy Muthuri PhD, MBA, MREs is a Professor of Sustainable Business and Development at Nottingham University Business School (NUBS), and the Acting Director of the International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility (ICCSR). She is a leading ‘business and development’ and ‘responsible business’ scholar. 

She is passionate about embedding sustainability and responsible business principles in organisations. Prof. Muthuri has been instrumental in developing and implementing NUBS’ sustainability strategy in her role as the Chair of the Social and Environmental Responsibility Group (SERG) between 2017 to 2023.

Judy is one of the co-founders of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Chapter Africa steering responsible management education, practice, and research in Africa. She is a founding member of the Africa Academy of Management (AFAM) and its current Vice President supporting the advancement of knowledge and scholarship in the theory of practice of management and organisation issues in Africa. 

Judy believes in working in cross-sector partnerships to co-produce initiatives that has positive and sustained societal impacts. She currently leads a multidisciplinary team working with mining stakeholders to co-create and co-design financial inclusion and market literacy interventions to improve the livelihoods of the miners, and more generally the sustainability of the artisanal and small-scale mining sector in Kenya.
