Marcus is a partner in the Corporate Finance team at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer specialising in helping a number of well-known UK corporates with all of their financing needs.
Marcus joined Freshfields in 1988 and has worked in the New York office (twice) and completed a four-month secondment with Salomon Brothers in their Legal Department and a five-month secondment to Heathrow Airport. He is known to have a healthy dose of humour and the ability to explain complex issues in layman’s terms.
Marcus is also the Chair of a social enterprise/charity, Gasworks Dock Partnership, which is seeking to regenerate a dock in the east end of London to make it an arts, education- and community-focused hub for the London Borough of Newham as well as a working dock and dry dock for the live/work boating community. It is through his work for GDP that he has become involved in Business in the Community, seeking to bring both his legal experience and his experiences gained from his work with GDP to bear on bigger projects such as the Place Leadership Team.
Marcus is a keen cyclist whose regular commute from Putney is by bike. If not visiting his cottage in Suffolk, he can usually be found cheering on his local football team at Craven Cottage.
