Paul Aldridge is the Group Sustainability Director at WJ Group, a national contractor, material manufacturer and market leader within the road marking and highways safety sector. Paul specialises in the creation, measurement, and enhancement of environmental and social value initiatives across WJ Group.
With the support of the business Paul was able to fulfil his lifelong ambition to work and lead in the field of sustainability. He changed his career path with WJ from a Regional Managing Director to that of the Group Sustainability Director with the objective of creating and driving the sustainability strategy across the business.
As an advocate for creating social and environmental value from business Paul is delighted to join the Business in the Community (BITC) West Midlands Leadership Board. As a business WJ are leading a positive contribution through collaboration with supply chain partners and stakeholders and empowering WJ people to create their own impact through WJ’s Thinking Community initiative. They are now sharing their approach and learnings with industry peers to drive longer lasting inclusive positive change.
Paul is an active member of the National Steering Committee for the Fairness, Inclusion and Respect initiative for the construction industry. He is also a member of the National Highways Supplier Diversity Forum.
Having worked extensively within the industry in many roles since the early 1980s, Paul’s passion for sustainability is not just restricted to his work. As a keen cyclist with a strong interest in vulnerable road user safety, he once cycled around the world to satisfy his love for the natural environment and diverse cultures.
