Regional Insights on Race
These regional insights on race, based on the England and Wales Census 2021 (results for Scotland are to be released later in 2023) provide a fresh opportunity to understand the changing representation of ethnically diverse communities, supplying employers with data that can be utilised to understand better the communities they operate in and to measure whether their workplaces truly reflect the local community.
These factsheets provide insights into the most diverse locations within different UK regions and nations,
including information on religion, languages spoken, and the demographic breakdown of the population in full-time education. More in-depth knowledge about this rich pool of potential talent in the UK can enable employers to set targets for the attraction, recruitment, retention and progression of employees in their workplaces and provide an inclusive environment where people from all backgrounds can work and progress.
These factsheets will help organisations to understand and correctly use the data from the Census 2021 to take informed decisions. They also share highly relevant and useful data from BITC’s Race at Work 2021 survey.
